tnkymapBfacilities in Springfield, TN, near the most rapidly expanding burley production region in the U.S.

BSC purchases leaf tobacco directly from farmer-members in the traditional burley producing regions where the highest quality tobacco has been grown for centuries. Procurement of burley is allocated across the production belt to result in the optimal mix of burley from across the production region. Most of the tobacco is produced along the Tennessee-Kentucky border with small amounts coming from Western North Carolina and Southwest Virginia.

BSC enters marketing agreements with members to allow delivery of their tobacco to BSC. The marketing agreements outline the volume to be delivered, prices, quality specifications, and ensure appropriate agricultural practices are used in raising, harvesting, curing and delivering the tobacco.

Producers deliver their tobacco to BSC’s designated receiving locations in Springfield, Hartsville, Greeneville and Rogersville Tennessee and Asheville North Carolina.

Processing services are performed according to BSC’s specifications by tobacco processing facilities before being shipped to storage.
